Link Wheel Power Means Quality Linking

Linkwheels have been around for a long time. Just recently they have gained some notoriety. Some claim that they have lost their effect and others go as far as saying they can harm your link building.
Linkwheels are like most link building strategies. Their main goal is to get your website on the 1st page of Google. This is very difficult to do when you have a lot of competition for certain keywords.
The best most of us can do is to get a position on the SERPS. A position on the 1st page for say a blog or bookmark may not be as good as having your website on that page. However, having a good position on the 1st page with any kind of link going back to your website is very good too.
In the end, we all want traffic going to our website. Having positions on the SERPS for the 1st can help you towards that end. The traffic you get and possible links from that traffic will position your website higher.
